Carolina Conceptions hopes you had a beautiful holiday season with your family and friends- filled with peace, joy, and everything that makes you happy!

As one year comes to a close and another begins, we often reflect as individuals or couples on where we’ve been and where we’re headed in the New Year. What went right in 2015? What needs to be changed for 2016? Depending on where you are on your journey to parenthood, you may be looking back on 2015 with joy, frustration, or even sadness at the events of the past year.

Maybe 2015 was the year you had your first fertility consult and you are filled with hope for the year ahead –ready to follow the plans you have already started to put in motion with your doctor. Maybe you’ve been at this for years and you have finally gotten that positive pregnancy test you’ve been waiting for! You are looking forward to finally meeting the baby you have dreamed of in 2016. You see an amazing light at the end of your infertility tunnel.

Maybe you are ready to close the door on the failed cycles or losses of 2015. You might be taking a break, trying to dust yourself off and psych yourself up for another try. Maybe you’re beginning to consider something big like embryo or traditional adoption.

Wherever you are in your journey right now, “be all there.” You are right where you need to be today.* Infertility can be a difficult path for many and can become a big part of a couple’s identity when it goes on for some time. Don’t let it define you. Feel the feelings you have today and move forward. This is a phase in your life. It can be a big phase, and it will change you. But one day it WILL be behind you.

As you reflect on what lies in store for 2016, focus on hope. Right now 2016 is a blank slate – shiny and new, with endless possibilities. Whatever lies ahead, YOU CAN DO IT, and you are not alone. We are here to help you and are rooting for you every step of the way.

Happy New Year From Carolina Conceptions!

If you need a few minutes of inspiration, encouragement, or a quick laugh, follow us on Pinterest. You may be surprised at how many people are talking about infertility here. (*Wherever you are, be all there. Quoted by Jim Elliot, can be found on our Pinterest Inspiration Board).

If you’re finding it harder to deal with your infertility and need additional support, please consider attending our free monthly support group on the second Wednesday of the month (next meeting is on Wednesday, January 13th). Sometimes it can do wonders to hear there are others going through a very similar situation to your own.

If you prefer individual therapy or other ways to ease your stress like acupuncture or massage, there are resources listed on our website for your consideration.
