After nearly a year of planning, and a confirmed guest count of 785 parents and children, the Carolina Conceptions 10-Year Anniversary Reunion couldn’t be stopped, even by Hurricane Matthew.

Of course the event changed in the wake of devastation and power outages caused by Matthew from Raleigh to the coast, but hundreds of former patients-turned-parents STILL showed up to celebrate and re-connect with the physicians and staff at who helped make their families a reality.

The sun shined brightly on Pullen Park’s Picnic Green for our event. Even a power outage at the park and a fallen tree across the park’s railroad tracks did not stop us from having fun. The guests who were able to join us enjoyed refreshments from Ragland Productions, (thanks Russell!), who helped our show go on with extra generators. Chang’s Martial Arts of Cary provided entertainment for our group with their demo team’s board-breaking and jump kicks set to music.

Guests mingled with one another, chatting about their unique paths to parenthood while complimenting each others children. The rare strollers of multiples found new friends in one another as they compared notes on how to raise more than one baby at a time.

The highlight of the day was seeing former patients reconnect with the physicians and staff who made their families possible.  Proud parents couldn’t wait to say hello to the doctors, show off how their adorable children have grown, and take photos together.

Thank you so much to all of the guests who still attended the Reunion- in spite of Matthew! We know many of you were unable to travel in from areas hit harder by the storm. You were with us in spirit, and we look forward to seeing you next year!

Carolina Conceptions would like to say a special thank you to the local companies who participated in a raffle of prizes for our guests:
