“National Infertility Awareness Week,” or #NIAW, as you’ll see it on social media, begins Sunday. This movement was started back in 1989 by the National Association for Infertility, RESOLVE,
“To reduce stigma and educate the public about reproductive health and issues that make building a family so difficult for so many. It’s also a movement to empower those whose lives are forever changed when they struggle to build a family. This is our time to work together as a community and boldly kick down the barriers that impact millions of people each day. In 2010, National Infertility Awareness Week became a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services.”
The theme this year for NIAW is “Listen Up.”
