This week is National Infertility Awareness week. This week millions of people unite to help bring awareness and remove the stigma of infertility. We hope you feel encouraged and connected with so many this week.  As we help to spread awareness, we think it’s important to bring to the spotlight that in many places, coverage for infertility is poor. CNN has written an article this week titled “Why Americans lack adequate access to fertility treatments”. The article includes details on lack of insurance coverage for infertility treatments and how it affects many couples and individuals.

“Why does the price tag immediately come to mind when it comes to infertility? I think it’s because access to fertility insurance coverage in the United States is hard to come by, and a round of IVF can cost upwards of $12,000 — not including medication, according to a University of Iowa study cited by the National Conference of State Legislatures.

We share this article in hopes it can help bring light to some of these difficulties and hope the more attention we can bring, the more it can help change things for the future. To read more go to this CNN link.
