“Injections, procedures, ultrasounds, negative tests and a lot of tears. The infertility world was one I never thought I’d be a part of,” says Ana Rivera, an ABC 11 morning anchor person.

WTVD’s Rivera is pregnant through in vitro fertilization (IVF). She came to Carolina Conceptions for her IVF treatment and was a patient of Dr. John Park.

Ana describes her feelings about the ups and downs of her individual experience (her first two IVF treatments resulted in pregnancy but miscarriages) and the infertility journey in general.

“We weren’t ready to give up and on our third round for the first time ever we had three perfect embryos,” says Ana. “One of them was ready for transfer in May. Full of hope, we watched the embryo transfer on the ultrasound screen.

“That little embryo decided to stick around. We are expecting our first baby in February!”
