Celebrating Dr. Bill Meyer’s Retirement

Carolina Conceptions is honored to celebrate the upcoming retirement of Dr. Bill Meyer, one of our founders and most beloved physicians. After decades of service in reproductive medicine, Dr. Meyer will be concluding his clinical career at the end of this year, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy, thousands of grateful families, and a practice forever shaped by his leadership.

Dr. Meyer founded Carolina Conceptions alongside Dr. Couchman in 2006, after serving as the IVF Director at UNC. What began as a small clinic performing around 200 IVF cycles per year has now become a thriving center completing more than 1,000 cycles annually! Over the span of his career, Dr. Meyer estimates he has performed over 15,000 embryo transfers, helping countless patients build the families they once hoped for but feared they might never have.

He and his wife Maria, a pediatric oncology nurse at UNC, have also built a legacy in Honduras, through volunteering with One World Surgery. Over the past decade, they have performed about 20 gynecologic surgeries each year for women with limited access to care. Their dedication to service has had a profound impact both here and abroad.

While he will be deeply missed in our clinic, we are thrilled for him to enjoy more time with his grandson and bicycling around the country!

We invite former patients, colleagues, and community members to share well-wishes, memories, or messages of gratitude as we honor Dr. Meyer’s remarkable career. These messages will be posted and passed along to him. Please click the link below to enter your submission!
