Happy Families
and counting…
In a world where online reputation has become so important, we are grateful to the existing and former patients who have taken the time to share their Carolina Conceptions experience online. This is especially appreciated due to the private nature of our business. Many couples do not feel comfortable sharing their fertility journey with their closest friends and family, let alone in such a public space online.
Thank you to those who are sharing publicly on Facebook, Google, or Yelp. You inspire others with your story and are helping others decide who to trust when considering fertility clinics.

The first time we entered the 3rd floor of your building, we were worried and anxious couple who’ve been through hardships and failed struggles that lasted years. It wasn’t easy for us, however, we are now leaving the 3rd floor happier than we ever imagined and it’s thanks to all of you. You have helped make our lives full by bringing our baby into the world and we will forever be grateful. The professionalism and dedicated care displayed by the staff undoubtedly played a pivotal role in the success of the treatment.
Thank you all for helping us achieve what we dreamed of for so many years.

Advice and encouraging words that I can give anyone going through infertility would be this and this alone, learn patience and never lose faith in yourself or your spouse. Through 6 years of trying, we learned that no matter what outcome we had, we were going to be parents whether that was going to be to our own or to another child who we adopted. Through this patience and hope for the future, we refused to allow the struggle to wedge us apart as a couple and in fact, we grew closer. Never lose sight of the end goal, it just may not look like what you had in mind.
Being due in May, we ask for continued thoughts and prayers as our weeks with pregnancy continue and that we are able to bring a happy, healthy baby boy into the world. We will definitely will be visiting once he is here to meet you all! Again, we cannot thank you enough from the bottom of our hearts.

Before I had chemo I worked with all the doctors in the office and was able to successfully harvest 16 mature eggs and 1 immature eggs. And they were able to freeze them for a couple of years and this year I had an embryo implanted with the guidance of the doctors and helpful staff. They were encouraging throughout and happy to assist me get through the process through all my ups and downs.

After trying to get pregnant for a year, we sought help from Carolina Conceptions to make our dream of becoming a family come true. We successfully became pregnant after one round of an IUI with Juliette. My pregnancy ended up being very high risk and difficult and we welcomed our sweet girl into the world on June 19th at only 28 weeks. After 88 days in the NICU, we finally have our baby girl home. We are absolutely in love and are so appreciative to Dr. Couchman and Dr. Meyer for helping us conceive Juliette. Thank you!

At 41 years young, I wasn’t sure that it was possible or going to be easy. But the staff’s professionalism assured me into the process. We got pregnant after our first round of meds and timed intercourse. Thank you is not a big enough expression as to what you gave to us. CC has our deepest gratitude!

Dr. Grace Couchman was the perfect amount of professional, mixed with compassion, and I could not have asked for a better experience. She always answered my emails, even on the weekends!! I could not believe the level of care she provided. The nurse on our case Terry Hunter was just as amazing. I wouldn’t always get calls or updates from just these two ladies, but anyone that called me knew everything about my case and could answer any question I had. The process of going through IVF with this clinic was just amazingly seamless and easy! My husband is military, and this practice accommodated to his crazy schedule and even had staff on hand over the weekend come in just to work around our schedule. We had to do remote monitoring due to living in Sneads Ferry, and the doctor’s office they set us up with in Wilmington was just as fantastic. Dr. William Cooper was great!
They completely supported my wants and wishes to skip all the in between options that could have made them more money but may not have worked, and never once questioned my determination to go straight to the IVF. All of the other clinics we had talked to wanted us to try a million things that would have cost us an absurd amount of money, only to probably have to do the IVF my gut told me would work. We did our first round of IVF in August of 2014 (male factor infertility), transferred two embryos and found out two weeks later it had worked! We were pregnant with twins. Unfortunately we lost one of our babies at 8 and a half weeks, but Dr. Couchman handled me beautifully with her explanation as to why this happened, and put me at ease with any concerns I had. I am now 23 Weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy and I owe everything to this practice. We WILL be using this clinic again when we decide to do the transfer of our frozen embryos later down the road. The cost of this practice was SLIGHTLY more expensive than a few others, but by far exceeds any and all expectations you would have when going through this process.
Thank you Carolina Conceptions, Dr. Couchman, and the entire team that worked with my husband and me and made our dreams of having a family a reality!

We primarily saw Couchman and had a few visits with Dr. Meyer. My husband and I were so impressed with the care and treatment we received from everyone at Carolina Conceptions. The doctors took all the time we needed to answer our questions and were thorough in their answers. I am fortunate the case of Asherman’s was not severe which we learned after the surgery. Just a few short months later, under the care of Dr. Couchman and Dr. Meyer we were pregnant again. We are happy to report that we are 22 weeks along with a healthy baby girl.
The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish they would continue seeing us through our pregnancy since they are the best in town!

After deciding to do the ONE Plan (Highly recommend it, so ask about it!), we signed up to sit one on one with a nurse who showed us how to administer all of the fertility medicines. Her name was Elisa and she did a fantastic job explaining things and writing down important dates we would need. We finally had things rolling! But then Dr. Couchman did an ultrasound to check my uterus and ovaries and found that I had a mass at the top of my uterus. She explained that surgery would need to be done to try and remove it before proceeding. It worried my husband and I but Dr. Couchman was confident it was fibroids and that once we had it removed, it would be smooth sailing. She did the surgery within a few days and we were able to start fertility meds about a month afterwards.
All through the medicine period, we were full of questions. And most of them were stupid questions and us messing stuff up and the nurses fixing our mess ups. We were too nervous/excited I guess to get things right. My personal saving grace was Terry. She answered every email right away. No matter how stupid. And if I couldn’t reach Terry, Elisa and Tammy were always able to swoop in to answer! Lab tests came in SUPER fast. I always had results within a few hours. Kentrice was usually the one who took my blood and had the best personality. She really seemed to enjoy her work! Tiffany set me up for most of my ultrasounds and was always polite and helpful.
After many ultrasounds, it came to be that I had not made enough eggs to start the IVF. Dr. Park informed me that I had several options. I could do the IVF but my chances would be low success due to the number of eggs I made. If it took, great, if not, we could start over. But he suggested that my best option was to do IUI, which would have a higher success rate than doing the IVF with so few eggs. And, if it wasn’t successful, we still had credit towards starting the IVF process again because the IUI was much cheaper and less intrusive. And, my husband’s last specimen was enough to work, according to Dr. Park. Naturally we panicked. We had been told IUI was a waste of time by our doctors in the past. But we discussed it and decided it WAS the best option so as to not waste the meds already taken.
The day after Thanksgiving we did IUI. My husband was very proud of his sperm count AFTER the washing… it was higher than we had ever seen it. Tammy offered to let him inject the sperm but he refused, scared to mess things up. It was simple and quick. In about 2 weeks, I would test to see if I was pregnant at home if I hadn’t received a period.
I tested 2 weeks later and there was a line! A super faint line, but a line none the less! The office did blood work two separate times to make sure the HCG was increasing, and it was! I was then scheduled an ultrasound for December 30… and got to see our little blob and a fluttering heartbeat! And couple weeks later, we got to see our blob had more than doubled in size and the heart still fluttering! It was amazing!
I will be 9 weeks pregnant Friday… due August 22, give or take a day or two. While I am aware I am still in my first trimester and that this is the trimester that bad things can happen in, I am just so happy and filled with hope. I never really had that hope before! It can be done! It worked for me! We didn’t even have to use the IVF! I know that this is a long review. It’s really our story more than a review… but our story gets to continue because of all of the wonderful people at Carolina Conceptions! Dr. Meyer could have turned us away when our appointment wasn’t in the system. Dr. Couchman could have ignored the mass and waited to see what would happen with the IVF. Dr. Park could have told us to just give it up and start a new IVF cycle. But they didn’t. They are there to make families. They WANT to succeed. And their staff does too! Everyone was friendly, ALWAYS. It is an emotional time and they KNOW that. I would recommend Carolina Conceptions to ANYONE that is struggling to start a family. Even just checking out the website educates you immensely. Watch the videos. Call and talk to them. Go and meet them. I really think you will be glad you did.

We read the profiles and qualifications of the physicians at CC on the website and ended up meeting with Dr. Grace Couchman, who consulted with us for over an hour. She reviewed all of our past medical histories and interviewed us about conception attempts. At the end of the visit, she offered us multiple options to become pregnant and advised us on what would work best for our situation. We spent the next few weeks having many tests run to determine the cause of our infertility, which turned out to be with me- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). My ovaries had plenty of eggs, but I was not ovulating and didn’t know about this because I was on birth control pills for over 12 years. I was advised by Dr. Couchman to stop eating all sugar while going through treatment, as this would help my chances with conceiving. I tried oral medications to start ovulation, but did not have any success. The next step of the plan was to try a combination of oral and injectable medications. I was worried about this, but felt confident that these specialists knew what they were doing. The plan was for us to try timed intercourse after using an injectable medication to start ovulation. However, we did not become pregnant and decided to take the next month off of the medications. I was disappointed but knew this would take some time. I came back the next month after and learned that I had an ovarian cyst and could not go through treatment as it would be harmful to my health. I was going to have to wait another month and was upset because my health insurance was going to run out at the end of the year and I wouldn’t be able to continue treatments. The billing/financial staff at CC is great. They sat down with me and my nurse and we figured out another plan before my insurance expired. I was able to complete another round of injectable medications and this time we decided to use the IUI method. Of course, the day of the IUI fell on Labor Day Holiday, however, Dr. Park and the staff at CC were open for me to come in and have this procedure done. I was so grateful as that was my last chance to conceive with help from them. 2 weeks later, I had my first positive pregnancy test!
I followed the physicians’ directions exactly as they had recommended over the next few weeks. I was then released to my OBGYN to take over care. The pregnancy was completely normal and uneventful. My daughter’s due date was the exact day 1 year later that I first met with Dr. Couchman. I am so thankful to these doctors and their staff for making our dreams come true. They truly changed my life forever, and words ultimately cannot describe everything that they have given our family. They are remarkable and I highly recommend them.

The thing about Carolina Conceptions is that it really is a place of hope. The waiting room isn’t filled with the sense of dread that you find at other clinics. Not only are the physicians extremely skilled at their craft, but everyone from the front desk staff, to the financial counselors, to the nurses, CNAs, and embryologists are rooting for you. They aren’t just invested in your success as a number to make their stats better, they really want success for you. There is such a sense of teamwork and community in the office and you receive nothing but the most compassionate care. We count not be more grateful to everyone at Carolina Conceptions for helping us build a family.

Without Dr. Couchman, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Park this wouldn’t be possible. We are so grateful for everything they have done for us to make our dream of becoming parents come true. All of the staff at Carolina Conceptions was rooting for us and its feels good when they were just as happy for you as you are for yourself. Thank you again for everything. I tell anyone who is dealing with infertility to go to Carolina Conceptions, because they were our blessing in disguise. We are now going to be parents for the first time. We enjoyed our journey, and you never know, maybe we will do it again one day. Thank you again.

You begin to feel like the employees are family/friends rather than just employees at your doctors office. They are all a huge part of the process. They are happy for you and celebrate with you when there is good news and they will cry with and support you when there is not so good news. There really are not enough words to describe how positive our experience was at CC.
Carolina Conceptions also offers a discount for Service Workers. My husband is a firefighter so therefore we qualified. Our insurance does not cover fertility treatment so all expenses were out of pocket. This discount for service workers made it possible for us to be able to do IVF which is finally how we conceived the little miracle that we are expecting.

I am so grateful for the patience and care of each and every provider I saw at the clinic from the doctors to the nurses, lab technicians and front desk staff. They all were completely dedicated to making sure you got what you came for a baby! I cannot stop talking about this practice to my friends and family. They truly know what HOPE really means. My husband and I went there when first starting to try for kids. I had a hunch I would have issues so someone recommended this office to us (my girlfriend also has had two successful pregnancies from this office). We live a couple hours away but thought we should at least get a consult and have some tests run. I was diagnosed with PCOS and Dr. Park said some fertility medicine should do the trick. Fertility is a commitment and requires a lot of visits, but we really liked the office and decided to give it a try even with the long commute.
I am glad we did. I have never seen an office run so smoothly. The thing I loved is they had early 7:30 am appointments. I never waited in the waiting room and, for the most part, could be in and out in 15 minutes. This was important to me because I could be back to work by 10:00 am. I was always able to see a doctor for my ultrasounds and they were always available for questions during this new emotional process. They also were accessible via email if I had questions I forgot to ask. I did see every doctor at Carolina Conceptions and each one is super easy to talk to and had no reservations with any of them.
With our first treatment we were fortunate that the medicine worked the first time. We were so excited. We were blessed with a sweet baby girl in 2010.
When we started trying for our second child I thought I would just use my regular OB and have them copy the same medicine and treatment I used with Carolina Conceptions. I went through three rounds and one miscarriage, and the treatment was just not the same. They wouldn’t follow the same protocol because they wanted to do things a certain way because that is how they practiced. They were more conservative in practice while Carolina Conceptions main goal is to get you pregnant, so that could mean changing things up a little bit if they saw things weren’t working. Even though this office was more local, I always had to wait so I still got back to work at 10:00 am. So finally I got fed up and started making my trips back to Carolina Conceptions. We tried 3 more rounds of fertility meds, one IUI, and finally bit the bullet and did IVF after a long conversation with Dr Park. The IVF was a success and we welcomed our sweet baby boy in 2012!
I know fertility assistance is very emotional and even more so for women who have been trying for years. Fertility unfortunately is not a guarantee for anyone, but there is no office I would rather be at for either outcome due to the experience I had at Carolina Conceptions. They will do everything they can to get you pregnant.
Fertility is a hard process and we just don’t think we are up for it again especially being so lucky to have two healthy kids. However, it has been hard leaving Carolina Conceptions to go back my regular OB office.
Thanks again to all the staff for your constant patience and commitment assisting us on our journey to this new and exciting life.

I was a particularly nervous patient after years of assuming we would never be able to conceive, but the doctors and nurses were always available to answer questions – always! It really put me at ease, which I truly believe helped with the success of treatment. I am so grateful for the patience and care of each and every provider I saw at the clinic – from the doctors to the nurses to the lab technicians. They all were completely dedicated to making sure you got what you came for – a baby! If we find ourselves in a similar situation when we are ready to try and conceive our second child, I know where we will be going! Thanks for everything!!”

After only 3 rounds of injections, one of those paired with IUI, we were able to get pregnant. Dr. Meyer was both cautious and aggressive in my care. He knew what my body could handle and didn’t want to push it. The monitoring was so thorough, I never felt like I was slipping through the cracks.
The entire staff is amazing. They never make you feel like just another patient. The front desk girls were always so warm and kind. And, on our “graduation day”, they were so happy and supportive of us. The lab techs were always so gentle with the blood draws and very prompt with the results. They know what agony waiting is for their patients. I was able to work with Dr. Couchman a few times and she was always so kind.
I would like to take a minute to give a special thank you to Kim Briley. Kim was so amazing, I’m not sure I could have made it through our treatments without her. She was always available by email to answer any question I had, no matter how small or seemingly ridiculous. She is warm and encouraging and funny. It was almost like emailing with a friend who happened to be a nurse. She was truly invaluable to this experience.
I appreciate how available everyone at Carolina Conceptions is. They are wonderful about responding to phone calls, and were always available by email. The experience I had at Carolina Conceptions made one of the hardest things I’ve ever gone through bearable. I’ll always be forever grateful.

We began in 2004 with testing to determine why we had been unable to conceive on our own. We were diagnosed with male factor infertility and began looking at IVF clinics in the area. At the time, we lived in Durham and so we evaluated all the surrounding clinics and chose one. We underwent two unsuccessful cycles before finally conceiving our beautiful daughter, who was born in 2008.
We realized through our cycles, that I wasn’t responding well to several of the stimulation drugs. In general, I only produced 6-8 eggs per cycle which was roughly half of what they expected for a woman my age (33 yo). At that time we had several discussions with our fertility doctor about switching protocols or doing things differently, but they felt we could simply keep the same protocol and increase the dosage of some of our medicines. Ultimately, when we had our daughter we were content for several years.
Then, we began to long for another child. A sibling for our daughter, another unbelievable source of joy for us. We again returned to our old clinic. We failed a frozen embryo transfer and then miserably failed a fresh cycle. In fact this time, I had 6 large follicles going into retrieval only to end up with none at the end of the procedure. They guessed that I had something called empty follicle syndrome – a heartbreak that we do not wish upon anyone. After discussing with our doctor what we could do differently, we sadly realized that they planned to do nothing differently. At that point, we knew we had to look at another clinic. Surprisingly, this was a very difficult decision for us. After all, our old clinic had changed our lives by helping us have our daughter!
After much research, we decided to meet with Dr. Park. Any reservations we had about leaving our old clinic completely evaporated after meeting him and the staff at Carolina Conceptions. He was very well versed in the roadblocks we had encountered along the way and even had experience with couples with empty follicle syndrome. Leaving our consultation, we felt that something new and different, something cutting edge, would be tried. At 36 years old with five infertility cycles under our belt, we knew, really KNEW, this was our last attempt. We decided to put our hearts on the line and cycle again.
From the beginning, everything was different about this cycle. To begin with, we now live in Wilmington so all our monitoring was done remotely. We worried that the communication would suffer because of the distance, but that was not the case. Carolina Conceptions is very organized and stays in constant contact with you about the next step, labs etc. The nurses are incredibly friendly and kind and genuinely seem to care about you. Whenever we called, someone got back to us within one day – a BIG change from our old clinic. Dr. Park was amazing and answered all our emails right away.
At the end of our cycle, even with the new and definitely improved protocol, I only had 3 mature follicles. With her unbelievable skill, Dr. Couchman was able to retrieve all three for us. All three were mature, all three fertilized and all three made it to the blast stage. We have NEVER in all our cycles had that happen. We absolutely credit that to the protocol that maximized the quality of my eggs – and a little divine luck. We decided to put all three back and feel like the luckiest people in the world to be 14 weeks pregnant now! We know in our hearts we would not be here without the expertise and care of Carolina Conceptions – they made our dream of completing our family come true!”

In 2010, we decided to do one more iui (in January) and we thought that it had failed again. In February I woke up in horrible pain on the 23rd and had my husband take me to the ER where we found out we were pregnant (but also that we were pregnant with twins) but one was in my left tube and one in my right tube and they both had heartbeats but my tubes were about to rupture. So they had to go in and do emergency surgery and took both my tubes so the only way we could get pregnant now was through IVF which was going to be hard to come up with the money.
Now it’s 2011 and my husband’s parents gave us the money to do IVF and we were also approved for the compassionate care program which covered all my meds. July came and we did our egg retrieval and they got 5 eggs (4 were mature and 2 fertilized) but that was ok because we were going to put two in so they were eight celled and seven celled. The day of transfer came and everything went great. The hardest part was the two week wait and when it finally came we found out we were PREGNANT!!!!!!!!! This was great-we were so excited two day later, we went back to make sure numbers were doubling-they were. Then you wait again for your first ultrasound to find out how many you are having. The day finally came and we saw one tiny bean with the flicker of the heartbeat that was one of the best days of our lives. We had to go back in a week to make sure all was growing good and to be released to my obgyn. The next appointment came and still one baby strong heartbeat growing just right so we were released to our obgyn.
We are currently 10 wks pregnant and last week we had our first ob appointment and got to hear the heartbeat. Without Dr. Couchman, Dr. Meyer and Dr. Park this wouldn’t be possible. We are so grateful for everything they have done for us to make our dream of being parents come true. All the staff at Carolina Conceptions have been rooting for us and its feels good when they are just as happy for you as you are for yourself. When we first arrived at CC and it was determined that IVF was going to be our best chance at pregnancy, I was informed that I would need to lose about 40 lbs in order to undergo the transfer procedure. I have always been overweight (despite many diets over the years I had been unable to ever lose a significant amount) and hearing this from Dr. Couchman at first sounded like the door slamming shut on my dream to have a family. She encouraged me and offered some advice on how to go about the weight loss, but in the car outside the office I broke down in tears. Over the next few days I decided to try her advice (lots of exercise and following a low carb diet) and found that I was able to lose the weight more easily that I would have ever dreamed. It was still hard, however, I had a wonderful goal that I was working toward.
In the end I surpassed the amount of weight I had to lose for the procedure, and now a little over a year later, I just spent my first mothers day with my two beautiful twin boys.
Thank you Carolina Conceptions for making our dreams of a family come true!”

Because of our situation, we elected IVF. The first cycle was canceled but we became pregnant on the second cycle. Dr. Park went above and beyond what was professionally required of him in order to help me and my husband to become pregnant.
We are forever grateful to the entire staff of Carolina Conceptions (all the doctors, nurses and admin staff are awesome) and especially to Dr. Park who made me feel comfortable and relaxed enough to trust him to do all that he knew how to do to help us get pregnant.
Our son is 2.5 months old; he was born in February after a 38 week, uneventful (problem-free) pregnancy.
Thanks again Carolina Conceptions and please continue making couples dreams of parenthood come true.”

However, due to the kindness of people who we don’t even know, but who shared the same desire as us to be parents and walked a similar path of infertility, we are now expecting twins. Our little girls were conceived as a direct result of embryo donation. My husband I consider it to be like traditional adoption, just nine months earlier. We are so thankful to the donating family and recognize that they literally have made our dreams come true.
Any patient who has experienced the IVF process knows how precious those embryos are. I urge anyone who has completed their family and has remaining embryos to consider embryo donation/adoption. A donating family is giving the gift of life to those precious embryos and allowing another family to fulfill their dreams. There really has been no downside for us—just blessings.”

I tell everyone about you and your office. I work at [a medical office], and I share our experince at your office with patients, and I have never hesitated to tell them how great you are. I give your office contacts to anyone that mentions to me about their fertility problems. In fact, I have two close friends that are under your care I recommended to you.
There is so much that I can say, but words cannot explain the utmost gratitude that we have to you and your staff. Thank you again and we will stop by later this spring so you can meet our little man. God Bless you!

The IVF nurse, Meghan makes you feel comfortable and relaxed and you honestly feel like her only patient from the classes to the retrieval and transfer. She did everything to schedule my classes (i had to take 2), appointments around my work and travel schedule. She even called me one day to walk through a hypothetical schedule to ease my mind that it would all workout. Heather, the genius embryologist is so much fun to be around you forget what a stressful situation the whole process is. She remembers all of her patients and geniunely is concerned about their success.
I started my medications and after not responding as hoped after 5 days of (expensive) injections Dr. Couchman called me personally to recommend stopping the medications, canceling this cycle and starting over at the risk of having a less than desirable outcome. She was convinced that we could “do better” and she didn’t feel comfortable with me wasting anymore time or money on medications and a retrieval when the situation is not ideal. I was having a “freakout” moment because of my schedule with work and i was mentally prepared to be moving forward. She assured me that they would work around my schedule if at all possible. She was very honest and optimistic about starting fresh. So that is what we did and we tried a completely different regimen with different medications and wow, my response was better than 3 yrs ago! now i am 14 wks pregnant with twins and so far so good! My husband and I both always wanted 3 children but three years ago we gave up on that plan. I can’t believe we are in this position. thanks to the team at CC we have more excitement than we ever thought was possible. We would travel across the country for CC but we are lucky to have them a few mins from home!”

Letter from a referring physician:
Dr. Park,
My patients were very appreciative of you and said you had a terrific manner about you, which I knew they would. I thought it especially noteworthy that the patients wanted me to inform you of their miscarriage, only because they thought you would care. In my experience patients don’t always have that impression about doctors. I think you made a genuine impression on them. Also, I really appreciated the phone call you made to our office, as well. That kind of personal touch is definitely not the rule.
Thank you again for your excellent service to these patients. Despite their loss, they regard you fondly.
Our sincere thanks and love go out to you all who helped us get to this point – and here’s to much success for all your other patients who are hoping to get pregnant just like we were a few months ago! It’s a long and emotional road for anyone who has to travel it, but well worth it in the end.”

In the end our dream of a second baby came true. We now have the most beautiful baby girl in the world. I would and have recommended Carolina Conceptions to others. Even if we had not been successful we still would recommend Carolina Conceptions.”

I remember when we came out of the scan room were we confirmed I was pregnant, the nurses in eagerness asked how many? Like they were sure before hand that it was positive.
My husband and I are back in Africa and will not stop referring every hopeful mother to Carolina Conceptions.”

Since that time, Dr. Meyer has been terrific, from the transfer through both our ultrasounds (though I think my notebook of questions scared him a bit more than it did you!). ? The nurses and staff have also been so friendly and caring and competent – it truly was the most nurturing medical environment I have ever been in. It made me so sad to leave you all today, feeling like I have to leave this protective cocoon where I have an entire team of wonderful people rooting me on. And of course, we cannot say enough about Michelle, our embryologist, who created our baby and took good care of our little embryos for their first few days. She is like our angel!
We will certainly keep in touch, and hope very much to have some wonderful news to share with you in late September!
Thank you again for everything, both the medical support and the caring experience. We are filled with excitement about our future, and gratitude about how we got this far.”

We had visited other clinics and most providers seemed more interested in our compliance with their own marketing and educational programs than with any particular concern for my family. Carolina Conceptions was different and was concerned with informing us and allowing us to direct treatment. When it came to treating our family as their primary concern, Carolina Conceptions stood alone. I use to wish there were thousands of clinics like Carolina Conceptions because the people and facilities are top notch, but I overestimated because we really only needed one.
It is with humble appreciation that I consider how Dr. Couchman, Dr Meyers and Dr. Parks contributed to our family’s growth. They exude confidence and professionalism with talented experts who are aware of their capabilities. I could go on, but time is precious when the baby’s fallen asleep. I don’t remember what exactly I was worried about a year ago because my ideas have been wiped away by a strong sense of what’s important, and he’s sleeping now.”

We were blown away from day 1… by the comfort of the office, by the warmth of the entire staff, and the competence and confidence of the doctors. Dr Meyer, Dr Couchman, and Dr Park all played significant roles as we journeyed through to the day we got “the call” telling us “Congratulations, You’re pregnant!” Such an amazing feeling that words can’t describe, and even more amazing now that our son has arrived and is a wonderful and healthy 5 week old!! … We could go on for days, eventually just running out of positive adjectives for everyone at CC. It was – quite ironically – very difficult to “graduate” to the regular OB simply due to the comfort and confidence we felt at CC.
Simply put, The Drs and the entire staff at Carolina Conceptions are a dream team helping family dreams come true. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU”

I am very hopeful for the recipents and I’m really rooting for them. Some of the best parents I know had to go through IVF and I’m sure that these two people will be no exception. I hope all of their dreams are realized and they have the baby (or babies!) of their dreams!
I’d love to go through this process again, should the need ever arise for another couple. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can help again…of course, not until this bloated feeling goes away! ?
Thanks again, so much!”

I must admit that prior to my first visit with you I was convinced that I was broken. That my “parts” didn’t work. During our first consultation you were so informative, optimistic and encouraging that my husband and I left there knowing that you would make it happen one way or another! Our doubts started to fade and we became confident in our baby making abilities. We are now expecting our first born in July of 2010! We truly are grateful for everything you did and we have already started recommending you to others. Thank you so much!
During our very quick process we ordered the “male prenatal” vitamin from Coast Reproductive. Since they only allow you to purchase a three month supply, we have extra. If anyone is interested in purchasing this product we would like to offer it to you at a substantial discount and no shipping! Please let the staff at Carolina Conceptions know and they will contact us. Good luck!”

“My husband and I came to Carolina Conceptions after relocating to NC in May of 2009. We had already been through two years of infertility testing and treatments, two devastating miscarriages and a surgery. For us, it seemed like it was going to be a neverending process of getting our hopes up and being let down. I met with Dr. Meyer to review our history. He suggested changing the current treatment we were on and I happily agreed to anything he thought would work for us. I am very thrilled to say after the 1st month under Carolina Conceptions care, we conceived! I am now entering my second trimester and can’t wait to meet our little one in April 2010! We are so grateful to all of the staff at Carolina Conceptions – from the moment I walked in the door I felt welcomed and cared for. Thank you for making our dream come true!”

However, Dr. Shaban and all of the doctors at Carolina Conceptions helped make the impossible possible. After a testicular biopsy in December revealed a small amount of sperm, our hope was renewed. I underwent IVF with ICSI in February and found out we were pregnant on March 4th! This is the “condensed form” of our journey but it reminds me of the heartaches and hopes with each test and procedure that we went through.
My heart goes out to other couples who are going through the infertility journey right now. My advice to you is to not give up hope and try your hardest to stay positive. Our prayers were answered and now my husband and I pray for all of you who may be reading these testimonials looking for hope.”

In the dim light of the nightlight, the outline of his face and little hands reminds me of the grainy ultrasound pictures from my last trimester. In my sleepy haze I think back to a time that SEEMS so long ago, but in reality, no that long ago. Following a second miscarriage in less than a year, my husband and I were presented with hysteroscopic pictures of something “not normal, definitely needs to be fixed” and advised not to have children until we sought the advice of a specialist. My OBGYN handed me the card of a specialist that had opened a new practice just across the street. While a practice “just across the street” seemed very convenient, we were completely blind-sighted with an overwhelming decision. In the weeks prior to our initial consultation at Carolina Conceptions, I scoured the internet looking for information, support from others, advice and the names of “good doctors” from local to the west coast.
The day of our initial consultation, I came with my notes in hand for our “interview” of Dr. Couchman, to see whether this “good doctor” could really be located so close? Not even one million internet searches, could match the hope and comfort Dr. Couchman provided during our initial visit. An ultrasound during the same appointment confirmed two possible diagnoses- a uterine septum or bicornuate uterus. In the moment she assured my husband, that a baby would be possible, the inexplicable sadness we had been feeling was replaced by hope. A little over a month later, my surgery with Dr. Couchman was quickly scheduled after an initial HSG followed by an MRI to confirm the presence of a “remarkably” wide septum, which prevented my previous pregnancies from reaching past 10 weeks. The most discomfort from the procedure, in my case, was slight cramping and a sore throat from the breathing tube put in place, in case laparoscopy was needed. With the help of ibuprofen, I was back at work within 24 hours. We got pregnant with our little boy on our “3rd try”…just like the previous 2 pregnancies.
Not before I lay Tyler back in his crib, I pray for couples so desperately hoping, waiting….choking back a lump in your throat after the one millionth time of “so when are YOU going to have a baby?” Having a baby is not merely a choice we made, but a true blessing from above….made possible, in part, by gifted individuals like Dr. Couchman strategically placed in our paths.”

Thanks to a commercial one day which led my husband and I to Carolina Conceptions. Little did we know that this would be the beginning of the end of my four years of unexplained fertility and intensive treatments.
After undergoing a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, 5 failed IVF’s, 1 failed FET, many stopped IVF cycles and 3 failed IUI’s at another clinic we are now blessed with two 3 month old healthy twins and all thanks to Dr. Meyer and his caring staff. At Carolina Conceptions I was able to get pregnant by doing a stimulated IUI, which this procedure had never been mentioned to me at my previous clinic.
On our first meeting with Dr. Meyer we were so pleased that a doctor cared enough about his patients and his work to spend an hour going through our charts and previous procedures. Coming from our previous clinic where we had been going to for four years and were never able to sit down with the doctor for more than 15 minutes and better yet receive clear answers to our questions. After hitting rock bottom emotionally we came out of our first meeting at Carolina Conceptions with the hope that we still had a chance to become parents one day.
I would like to say that as a patient at Carolina Conceptions you are not intimidated to ask a question or to call/email the practice and know that you will be answered immediately. How many doctors give you their personal email and send holiday cards following up with their patients? Dr. Meyer does! So with all the procedures behind us we wake up every day and are so thankful that we were blessed to be in the hands of the doctors and staff at Carolina Conceptions. Thanks to Dr. Meyer and his team we are the proud parents of a healthy baby boy and girl.
So my advice to anyone reading this testimonial, please do not give up hope and pay Carolina Conceptions a visit. You will immediately see the difference from other clinics. A comfort ing environment is very critical in the stressful process of infertility.”

“Before I had chemo I worked with all the doctors in the office and was able to successfully harvest 16 mature eggs and 1 immature eggs. And they were able to freeze them for a couple of years and this year I had an embryo implanted with the guidance of the doctors and helpful staff. They were encouraging throughout and happy to assist me get through the process through all my ups and downs.”
