Selecting a fertility clinic is one of the most significant decisions for you to make on your family-building journey. We are here to give you clear, objective tools to evaluate any fertility center based on real data, regardless of where you ultimately decide to receive care. You deserve complete clarity on IVF success rates, laboratory standards, and physician credentials before starting your journey, so our physicians advise that you consider these 5 key criteria when selecting a clinic:
The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) is the primary organization of professionals dedicated to the practice of IVF. The mission of SART is to establish and maintain standards for ART so that you receive the highest possible level of care. One way they do this is by validating and reporting on IVF Outcomes for clinics that qualify to be SART Member Centers.
To view Success Rates for a clinic, search for it by name and/or location on the SART Website. Found in the Clinic Summary Report, the primary metric you will want to look at will be “Live Births Per New Patient”, as this is the clearest and most straight-forward indication of family-building outcomes.
Since age is the most important factor in fertility outcome, make sure to focus on the data for your age group. You can also see how data compares to national live birth rates. SART notes that “A comparison of clinic success rates may not be personally applicable because patient medical characteristic, treatment approaches, and entry criteria for ART may vary from clinic to clinic” and, “It is important to note that patient characteristics vary among programs; therefore, success rates should not be used to compare treatment centers.“
Carolina Conceptions proudly achieves IVF Success Rates that consistently exceed national averages. We encourage prospective patients to review our data so they can confidently move forward with us on their family-building journey. Use the buttons below to access our data reported by SART and the CDC, and please continue reading this web page as we break down which numbers you will want to focus on, and how you can understand what they may mean for you!
While IVF success rates are an important factor in determining if a clinic is right for you, these numbers will be influenced by patient characteristics and program entry criteria. In fact, only about 3% of fertility patients will use IVF treatments, so other factors must also be considered, illustrated in the chart below:
