Embryo Transfer Preparation

A common question we hear is ‘Why do I need to have a full bladder for an embryo transfer?’ A full bladder places the uterus in a better position in order to see the uterus and endometrial lining for the embryo transfer. In order to perform an embryo transfer, we require you have a full bladder- usually 24-32 oz of fluids. The transfer catheter is then inserted into the uterus thru the speculum and cervix. The abdominal transducer (wand) is used to visualize the uterus. We have a monitor so you can watch the transfer happen!
